How to use Focus Sprint
If you are new, start with the recommended 30-second task on the home screen. A 3-second countdown appears first, and the app records the time from seeing the prompt to giving the answer.
Use 20 to 30 seconds as a quick warm-up, 45 to 60 seconds for a steadier record, and the 80-second routine before a test or a study session.
For longer-term training, the research direction is repeated sessions across weeks. The home screen now includes a 4-week plan: 12+ active days with short 4-minute sets.
Read your record
- Problem→answer time: The time from stimulus display to your answer. 1000ms is 1 second.
- Accuracy: Fast records are hard to trust when accuracy is low. Aim for at least 88 to 90%.
- Top %: Calculated only from uploaded records for the same task. Smaller means a higher position in that sample; it is not a population norm.
- Score: A helper metric for comparing records within the same task. Do not compare absolute scores across different tasks.
- Online leaderboard: When Firebase is connected, the app shows ranking based on uploaded records for the same task.
Recommended use
- Before studying: One recommended 30-second task, then go straight into studying.
- Before an exam: One 80-second routine. Avoid repeating until you feel tired.
- Longer-term training: Do one 4-minute set on 3 days per week for 4 weeks. Only one completed set per day counts toward the plan.
- Condition check: Repeat the same task length and compare the direction of your records.
- Backup: Save a JSON backup and restore it on a new device. CSV is intended for table analysis.
